Still, we can check out actual scientific studies, and from there derive the conclusions. Let’s then collect some real data about masturbation and testosterone, and get the truth instead.

1. Masturbation Doesn’t Reduce Testosterone Production

2. Having Sex Doesn’t Reduce T Levels

So if masturbation doesn’t reduce T levels, the same is true for having sex, right? Actually, that’s right. Despite all the years of conventional wisdom regarding abstinence and sex, all the stories about Muhammad Ali and other boxers, and even the various football stories about abstinence don’t matter. It won’t reduce your testosterone. In fact, after sex the T levels were even higher.

The boxers (both men and women) had their punches measured after they abstained from sex for a day. Then they had sex with their spouses, and their punches were measured again. One of the fighters registered a punch with 632 pounds of force before sex. Afterwards, it was at 876 pounds of force.

3. Masturbation May Even Boost T Levels

Now take note that we used the word “may” and not the more definitive “will”. It may, so it’s not certain that it will, ok? But jacking off may boost T levels, since one study did indicate this. Now that’s just a single study, so it’s hardly a pattern and there’s no real conclusive evidence that this is really true.

4. A Short Abstinence Period May Help

Some coaches refer to several studies that do show that short abstinence periods are beneficial for your T levels. One study indicated that a 3-week abstinence period resulted in higher T levels for guys. The main problem with this is that the study only involved 10 men, so it’s hardly representative. If you conduct a 10-person survey about US presidential elections, the results are virtually useless.

Another study revealed that on the 7th day of abstinence, the testosterone boost is incredible. It actually reached 145.7% of normal T levels.

5. Longer Periods of Abstinence May Not be Good For You

However, it may not be all that good if you abstain for too long from sex. 6. Sex is Better Than Masturbation

For most guys like us, this is so freaking obvious. Of course sex is better than masturbation! 7. Masturbation Isn’t Always “Safe”.
